The Eighth Edition commences with introductions to David Farine, Ela Kagel, and Stéphanie Boisset of Public Art Lab, introductions to Kayle Brandon and Heath Bunting's BorderXing project, and a few words from installation artists Ayesha Hameed and Nataša Teofilović whose vernissage sets this year's festival in motion. Groupe Studio XX launches the xxxboîte by hosting a "cinq à sept" event that will premiere a live online performance by Avatar Body Collision. Share wine, cheese, art, and ideas while DJ Cyan provides musical ambiance you can sway to.

Ontario performance artist Irene Loughlin stages a creative action intended to draw attention to the ecological, economic, and psychological consequences of global warming. Her durational performance, titled Grieving/Separated from Ayles Ice Shelf, engenders vulnerability and helplessness but also a sense of frustrated awareness.
7pm, 19 October at La Centrale
La Centrale presents an evening of raw energy and innovative talent. Quebec multimedia artist Rachel Echenberg performs reaction and Alejandra Maria Perez Nunez aka elpueblodechina brings the cybernetics of media into her sound performance PN Power Noise, all the way from Chile and Spain.
20 October at Le Savoy, Metropolis Doors Open at 8pm

An evening that will span from the meditative and investigative to the eclectic and ecstatic. Montreal artists Mylena Bergeron and Caroline Hayeur, ex-pat montrealer Freida Abtan, cross-continental Analog Tara, Quebec's Women with Kitchen Appliances, local fly-girl DJ Cyan and Germany's reknown export, AGF, will bring the house down!
