| Biography: JR Carpenter is a visual artist and writer living and working in Montréal. Her investigation of narrative forms in bookworks led her to begin creating artwork on the World Wide Web. The Web's potential for non-linearity and the integration of text and image allows for greater flexibility than the hardcopy bookwork. Carpenter's projects remain low-tech compared to the current aesthetic of the Web, somewhere between a children's book and a lab report.
