Nadia Seboussi is an Algerian artist based in Montreal. Her work questions the immigration status and the postcolonial relationships between East and West through an approach at the crossroads of documentary, essay, and video. Zone de transit is a video installation exploring the painful journey of refugees before they arrive in transition zones, which that seemingly to exist outside of time and outside of any legal framework. The work explores the questions of exile, contemporary mobility, and de-territorialization due to socio-political instability.
