Since its foundation in 1986, the Centre de production DAÏMÕN stimulates and privileges photographic and videographic research, creation and production. Always seeking to adequately respond to artists' needs, DAÏMÕN offers - through training and equipment for projects in media arts, design and new media - an envvironment which takes into account the constant evolution of diverse image and sound treatments, whilst assisting the development of interface possibilites between them.

A space of exploration, DAÏMÕN supports the production of professional and emerging artists' projects which are comprised of a certain degree of research. It encourages artists to push the limits of diverse media and to create works which integrate practices issued by new technologies. DAÏMÕN aliments reflection on the stakes surrounding creative practices in photography, video and new media, while elaborating special projects, producing publications on artists and their works who participate in their residency program, and in regularly organising meetings with local, regional and international artists. It is a multifunctional space, dedicated amongst other things, to the dissemination of works produced at the centre, as well to conferences, colloques and other artistic and cultural manifestations.
